Job Description:

SAFETY MANAGER -Local

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

 Manages the development and implementation of all safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions in a construction site using knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology and industrial health and safety rules.
 Manages the examination of plans and specifications for construction to ascertain if all safety precautions have been included.
 Manages the inspection of machinery, equipment and checks the working condition in the construction site to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. Inspects machines and equipment for protective bars, grills, emergency shutdown controls and other accident prevention devices.
 Leads workers to determine use of prescribed safety equipment such as glasses, helmets, goggles, face masks and clothing. Ensures that workers engaged in hazardous activities such as high level work, welding, etc. are adequately protected against industrial accident. Ensures that hazardous are taped off and set with warning signs and lights.
 Manages the inspection of specified areas for fire prevention and firefighting equipment and other safety and first aid supplies. Tests work areas for noise, toxic and other hazards. Educates workers on dangers existing in the construction site, through safety-first campaign
 Prepares and report findings with recommendations for corrective action. Investigates accident to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety program. May demonstrate the use of safety equipment. 

 

Job Requirements:

Experience :

• Minimum of 8 years continuous and recent experience in a similar position in the construction, refinery and petrochemical industry. 
• Middle East experience is an advantage.
